A full-time band of the Pomorska Philharmonic Orchestra – Capella Bydgostiensis is today one of the leading Polish chamber orchestras. It made its debut in 1962. The Orchestra’s artistic management was performed by: Stanisław Gałoński, Włodzimierz Szymański, Karol Teutsch, Daniel Stabrawa, Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk i Wiesław Kwaśny currently the Orchestra collaborates on a permanent basis with José Maria Florêncio.
History

Capella Bydgostiensis performs on the most famous stages in Poland and Europe, including such prestigious halls as: National Philharmonic Orchestra in Warsaw, Czajkowski Conservatoire in Moscow, Schau Capella Bydgostiensisspielhaus in Berlin, Schloss Mirabell in Salzburg, Royal Palace in Stockholm, El Escorial in Spain, Dutch Radio in Utrecht, Royal Castle in Warsaw, Leopoldinum Lecture Theatre in Wrocław or Lvov Concert Hall. The Band’s guest soloists and conductors include: Ewa Podleś, Wanda Wiłkomirska, Roman Jabłoński, José Maria Florêncio, Garry Karr, Wieland Kuijken, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, George Malcolm, Takao Ukigaya, Paweł Przytocki, Paul Esswood, Piotr Pławner, Krzysztof Jakowicz, Ewa Pobłocka, Waldemar Malicki, Tomasz Tomaszewski, Jan Stanienda and others. The wide-ranging repertoire of the Orchestra encompasses different epochs and musical styles – from baroque to contemporary times. As well as making radio and TV recordings, Capella Bydgostiensis contributed numerous records for Polish, Dutch and Spanish record companies.
