The Baroque choir Collegium Choro Musici Riga was founded in late 2010. Its creation was inspired by the successful performance of Claudio Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine on November 7, 2010, in Riga. It was then that Māris Kupčs, the artistic director of the project, decided to contact the most promising musicians and encourage them to form a new ensemble that would specialize in singing Renaissance, Baroque and Classical compositions and would collaborate with the already existing Baroque orchestra Collegium Musicum Riga.
Repertory

The choir's repertoire includes the most popular baroque compositions (G.F. Handel Brockes passion, J.S. Bach St. Luke Passion, A. Stradella L'Anime del Purgatorio, M.R. de Lalande  opera Les Fontaines de Versailles, C. Monteverdi Madrigali Guerrieri et Amorosi) and compositions that have been created in the historic Latvian territory (J.V. Meder St. Matthew Passion, J.A. Hiller Ta Simtaa Dzeesma (100. psalm), J. T. Perle cantata 98.psalm) and many others.
