Melo-M – a trio of cellos – is the most popular instrumental music group in the Baltic States and is widely known in the regions of Northern Europe and Russia. At present, the Melo-M founder is joined by cellists Miķelis Dobičins and Jānis Pauls. The group performs well-known musical themes from various popular music genres. All of the artists are academically educated, experienced musicians playing in symphonic orchestras and solo.
History
The group was founded in 2005 by cellist, guitarist and music producer Kārlis Auzāns. The basic aim of the group was to find an unconvential aspect and use of the cello.
